These are the rough sketches of the magazine cover and contents page that I will create using Quark and Adobe Photoshop as part of my preliminary task.
These are the pages made on Quark.
This is one of the pictures I used that I removed the background from using Adobe Photoshop.
These are the final pages.
With these pages, I believe I captured the codes and conventions of school magazines because, for example, I have labelled the price of it as 'free' and it includes school related content as it is a school magazine. It also includes a medium shot of a pupil and bright colours, incorporating the school colour scheme which can attract younger pupils to read the magazine, especially if they are looking to study here.
Before this task, I hadn't used Macs or Quark, nor had I used Photoshop before so this has been a useful experience because it has highlighted that I can use the basic functions; With more practice, I'm confident that I can use the two programmes to design and create a magazine of a professional standard.
